Meet Rebecca

Space holder, teacher and expert dot connector.

Between a middle school science fair project on oil spill clean up and summers spent volunteering with local nonprofits, I learned early on that caring for people and our planet was a core part of who I am.

Eventually, that knowing led me to study environmental issues at Georgetown University, followed by a cross-sector career working for pioneering organizations in environmental sustainability, philanthropy and social entrepreneurship.

Along the way, I’ve led impact initiatives from B Corp certifications to ground-breaking grant programs, crafted a lauded environmental + human rights training for employees, and designed transformative gatherings for hundreds of social impact leaders.

But it was learning that women are disproportionately vulnerable to climate change yet hold critical knowledge to solve the crisis that shifted my path—leading me to explore how many of the obstacles we face as changemakers aren’t the individual failings we think they are, but symptoms of the extractive systems we’re working to transform.

I wondered: What might become possible if all of us felt resourced to take—and sustain—action for our planet and communities? What if it wasn’t our struggle but our vitality that could more effectively plant the seeds for new, just systems?

Drawing from my environmental background and studies in systems thinking, futures, and women’s leadership and health, I launched Sister Seasons in 2020 in response to these questions. The goal: rebuilding our connection with our bodies and the natural world to strengthen our resilience as systems change leaders and to show us regenerative pathways to the world we know is possible.

This work gives me hope, clarity, belonging and vibrancy that both nourish and guide me during these challenging yet possibility-filled times. And I’d love to help you experience that too.

What Informs My Work

A systems approach to environmental and social issues. I’ve studied and worked in diverse areas across climate, nature and human rights. My training in systems thinking helps me see opportunities to address these larger systemic issues through our everyday experiences.

The weaving together of unexpected fields. I’m trained in women’s leadership, menstrual cycles, futures thinking and yoga. I’m also deeply influenced by biomimicry, emergent strategy, The Work That Reconnects, Ayurveda and ecology. Each thread—and my insatiable curiosity—shapes Sister Seasons.

A lifetime of designing purposeful experiences. I’ve created everything from international conferences to leadership retreats, peer mentorship circles, immersive learning programs and, yes, even weddings. I genuinely love crafting experiences that help us grow—whether for one person or a thousand.

Entrepreneurial and organizational experience. I know what it’s like to work for yourself. But I also know firsthand the challenges of working within mission-driven organizations, like scarce resources, slow decision-making and a workflow that’s not in your control. You can trust the strategies I teach are accessible for both.

My own ever-evolving relationship with nature and my body. I didn’t grow up feeling safe listening to my body or spending time outdoors. It took time—and a lot of help—to build these relationships, and I’ve still got room to grow. It’s a process, not a destination, and it’s not one we can rush.

“Rebecca holds such a wise and welcoming space [that] is carefully set up with some of the most thoughtful community agreements I've ever read. That attention provides the foundation for more open and vulnerable sharing. I loved connecting with the community, which felt really nourishing and supportive.”

What You Should Know

I’m a word person. A journaler since age 12, I love finding language that articulates our messiest experiences and helps us integrate them.

I identify as Highly Sensitive. This means I listen deeply, process information quickly, and have a knack for setting the mood of a Zoom room or rearranging furniture to get the vibe just right.

I love infusing beauty in the details. Maybe it’s because I was (briefly) a wedding planner, but I have a soft spot for the little touches that make gatherings feel effortless and memorable.

Creating belonging is important to me. I grew up always feeling like an outsider, so it’s such a joy to help others find belonging—in themselves, in communities of caring humans and the natural world.

This work is personal. My family is from New Orleans, a city on the frontlines of climate change. The only “period talk” I got was in a large auditorium. I’ve burned out more times than I can count. These lived experiences (and so many more) mean I’m not a neutral bystander to the challenges my work addresses. If you’re here, I imagine you aren’t either.
